People Of Dubai

The native people of UAE are commonly called Emiratis.

They are well-known for their warm hospitality. They are very traditional and orthodox. The men wear a long shirt-dress called Khandura. It is usually white in colour and is worn with a head scarf called ghutra and agal. The women wear black-coloured burkha and hijab. Islam is the national religion followed by Emiratis. Since the influx of immigrants to Dubai, the government has allowed the construction of churches, gurudwaras and temples, in consideration of the non-Muslim expatriates.
